Lindsey Walsh joins our school community as a seasoned counselor and boarding practitioner with an impressive seven years of experience in the field of boarding. Her expertise lies not only in counseling but also in fostering a home-like atmosphere within boarding houses. Through her unwavering dedication, Lindsey has become known for creating spaces where students feel valued, supported, and empowered.

Lindsey’s approach is grounded in the principles of positive education and solutions-focused practice. Her belief in the power of a positive mindset and proactive problem-solving aligns perfectly with our school’s commitment to holistic student development. With a focus on socio-emotional support and academic mentoring, Lindsey is dedicated to guiding our MYP and IB students, aged 14 to 19, towards a path of personal growth and academic success.

Academic Pursuits and Achievements

Lindsey’s commitment to her field is reflected in her academic pursuits. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Psychology from Liverpool University. Her academic journey is adorned with accolades, including a Master’s Degree in Anthropology and Environmental Sciences (graduated Cum Laude) and an Honours Degree in Psychology from Rhodes University. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (graduated Cum Laude) from the University of South Africa.

A Global Journey

Lindsey’s journey has taken her around the world, from Berlin to Moscow to South Africa, where she has contributed her expertise to various educational institutions. She provided socio-emotional support and academic mentoring to MYP and IB students in Berlin while also taking on the roles of Cross Country and Basketball Coach. Her time at Letovo School in Moscow involved offering pastoral and well-being training to boarding staff and serving on the well-being committee. Prior to her international experiences, she served as a House Parent in South Africa and even volunteered as psychiatric support at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital.

Outside of her professional life, Lindsey’s personal life is marked by her love for the outdoors, with running being her favorite hobby. She is married to Nicholas Heymans, an experienced boarding practitioner with a decade of boarding experience.
在职业生活之外，Lindsey 的个人生活还体现在她对户外活动的热爱上，跑步是她最喜欢的业余爱好。她的丈夫Nicholas Heymans老师是一位拥有十年寄宿经验的资深寄宿总监。
