At UISZC Primary, our primary focus is on nurturing leadership attributes and skills in our students. As part of our commitment to this development, students in upper Primary are elected by their peers to participate in various leadership committees. We’re excited to share that recently, Primary students came together to elect representatives from Year 3, Year 4, and Year 5, forming the Playground Friends Committee.

The students on this committee are entrusted with leading initiatives related to our playground area and are in the process of learning how to embody the principles of being Caring and Principled leaders. For their inaugural initiative, these young leaders are tasked with selecting new playground equipment for our Primary school.

What sets this process apart is their dedication to making this decision in a fair and inclusive manner that honors every student’s voice. They will actively seek input from their fellow students, understanding what equipment their peers would like to see in the playground. Following this, they will represent their classes and organize a democratic vote to determine the final choice.
