This is it! The 2022-2024 academic has come to an end. We cannot thank all students, parents, and colleagues for their dynamic participation in all school activities during the year. Our students and teachers are going on a well-deserved break over the coming weeks, as our admin and project teams are actively preparing the relocation to the new campus.
就是此刻！2022-2024学年画上圆满句号！非常感谢所有学生、家长和同事们在这一年中积极地融入学校的各项活动。在接下来的几周里，同学们和老师们可以安心享受假期，我们的行政和项目团队会为新校区的搬迁工作进行准备。
이제 끝입니다! 2022-2024 학기가 끝났습니다. 한 해 동안 모든 학교 활동에 역동적으로 참여해 주신 모든 학생, 학부모, 교직원 여러분께 감사의 말씀을 전합니다. 학생들과 교사들은 행정팀과 프로젝트 팀이 새 캠퍼스로의 이전을 본격적으로 준비하는 향후 몇 주 동안 충분한 휴식을 취할 예정입니다.
What to expect in 2023-2024?
● Several returning teachers:
the number of returning teachers is high this year, maintaining a solid institutional knowledge of the school community, and an enhancement of teaching practice thanks to the teachers’ endeavours to engage in professional development training. Our returning academic team will be completed by the imminent arrival of new teachers, at the end of July.
● A more robust device management:
while much improvement has been done at the boarding facility, and as we are planning to encourage our students to socialize, ideally in English, more on-site instead of online, students should expect less screen time when not necessary during the school day. The school is also working at better controlling wifi schedule and access to our students, to counsel them on the safe use of device, and at enhancing the control of devices, notably by identifying all devices on campus.
● An increased and more targeted offer in English:
1. A two-week IELTS Camp this summer (starting Monday, June 19). Seats are still available.
2. WIDA tests, specially designed for English learners, to be given to all English learners of years 3 to 12.
3. An additional class of English Language Acquisition in years 6 to 10 to better differentiate students’ English needs, enabling them to move up phases.
4. The presence of an ELL support teacher and an ELL Teaching Assistanct in the primary.
5. Extra support given to English learners during ECA’s, notably in Science, Individuals & Societies, and Math.
2023-2024学年可以期待什么？
● 多名留校教师：今年留校教师人数较多，他们熟悉UISZ社区的制度，且积极参与专业发展培训，这将有助于加强学校的教学实践。到了七月底，我们的教学团队将随着新教师们的到来而完成组建。
● 更强大的设备管理：虽然寄宿设施已经做了许多改进，而且我们计划提倡同学间的交流，最好是用英语进行，并且更多地在生活中而不是在网络上，因此，同学们接下来将在上学期间减少不必要的屏幕使用时间。学校也在致力于优化Wi-Fi 的时间安排及学生访问的权限管理，以引导同学们安全地使用设备。同时，我们将进一步加强对设备的管控，首要的就是识别校园内的所有设备。
● 提供更充足且有针对性的英文学习机会:
1. 为期两周的雅思夏令营将于6月19日(周一)开始，目前仍有名额；
2. 专为英语学习者设计的WIDA测试，面向所有3至12年级的英语学习者;
3. 在6至10年级增设英语语言习得课程，以根据同学们的英语需求，针对性地帮助他们提升英语水平；
4. 在小学设置一名ELL支持老师和一名ELL教学助理；
5. 在ECA活动时间，特别就科学、个人与社会及数学给予英语学习者们额外的支持。
2023-2024년에는 어떤 변화가 있을까요?
● 다수의 재임 교사: 올해는 재임 교사의 수가 많아 학교 공동체에 대한 탄탄한 제도적 지식을 유지할 수 있게 되었으며, 전문성 개발 연수에 참여하려는 교사들의 노력 덕분에 교육 실무를 향상시킬 수 있게 되었습니다. 7월 말 신규 교사들의 부임이 임박하면 학교의 교사진이 완성될 예정입니다.
● 더욱 강력한 전자기기 관리: 기숙사에서 많은 개선이 이루어졌고, 학생들이 온라인이 아닌 현장에서 영어로 더 많은 대화를 나누도록 장려할 계획입니다. 따라서 학생들은 수업 시간 중 필요하지 않은 경우 화면 사용 시간을 줄여야 합니다. 또한 학교는 학생들에게 안전한 기기 사용에 대해 교육하고, 교내의 모든 기기를 파악하여 기기 제어를 강화하고, 와이파이 사용 일정과 액세스를 더 잘 통제하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.
● 보다 세분화된 영어 강좌 제공:
1. 여름 2주간 진행되는 IELTS 캠프(6월 19일 월요일부터 시작)에 아직 좌석이 남아 있습니다.
2. 영어 학습자를 위해 특별히 고안된 WIDA 시험이 3~12학년의 모든 영어 학습자에게 제공됩니다;
3. 6학년에서 10학년까지 학생들의 영어 요구 사항을 더 잘 구분하여 단계적으로 올라갈 수 있도록 하는 영어 습득 수업이 추가됩니다.
4. 초등학교에 ELL 지원 교사와 ELL 보조교사 배치됩니다.
5. 특히 과학, 개인과 사회, 수학에서 영어 학습자에게 추가적인 지원이 제공됩니다.

As the semester is coming to an end, the students were examined based on the topics learned so far. The results depict their understanding and performances as well as a reflection given back by the students to know their strength and weakness for better improvement. Also, the students are well prepared for the forthcoming international day. In all, I wish them a well deserved summer holiday and success as they transit from one year level to another.

本学期即将结束，同学们根据所学的主题进行了对应的考试。这些考试结果反映了同学们的理解情况及表现，也是同学们对其学习情况的一种自我检视，以此了解自己的优势与不足，并更好地改进。此外，同学们也在为即将到来的“国际日”做足了准备。总而言之，衷心祝愿他们安心度过这段暑假，并在他们跨越到下一个年级时取得成功。

학기가 막바지에 접어들면서 학생들은 지금까지 배운 내용을 바탕으로 시험을 치렀습니다. 시험 결과는 학생들의 이해도와 성적을 보여줄 뿐만 아니라 학생들이 자신의 강점과 약점을 파악하여 발전할 수 있도록 도와줍니다. 또한 학생들은 다가오는 인터내셔널 데이를 잘 준비했습니다. 한 학년에서 다른 학년으로 넘어가는 학생들이 여름 방학을 잘 보내고 성공하기를 기원합니다.

The students were dedicated to broadening their understanding of the Design & Technology course. They devoted their attention to exploring “Topic 3: Modeling” and “Topic 4: Raw materials to final production” in the core curriculum, delving deeper into these subjects to expand their knowledge. At the Higher level, they also delved into “Topic 8: Sustainability” and “Topic 9: Innovation & Markets,” exploring these areas in greater depth. In addition to their coursework, the students took their exam paper 2 and began working on their internal assessment projects.

This week，DSE class mainly comment and summarize the final exam papers. By analyzing the exam papers, students can better understand where they need to improve and improve themselves during the summer break.
