Signs that the end of the academic year is near, our Year 12 students have entered their study break today to prepare their IBDP final examinations, starting May 1st. They were encouraged by all secondary students and teachers last Wednesday during a pep rally. We wish them all the best over the coming weeks!

Looking ahead, Book Week is coming up this week as well as Eco Ed Day on Friday, organized by the Year 9 students. Beyond the PYP Exhibition, the MYP Personal Project and various DP events, our programme encourages all students to lead activities and event management. Eco Ed Day is the first major event the Year 9 will organize, and we are certain that they will take outstanding benefit at raising awareness to the present and future needs of our planet.
展望未来，接下来有“图书周”，还有由9年级的同学们组织的星期五的 “地球日”活动。除了PYP展览、MYP个人项目和各种DP活动外，我们的课程鼓励所有学生都去领导活动和管理活动。“地球日”是9年级学生组织的第一场大型活动，相信他们将有力地号召人们关注地球现在及未来的所需。

School fees: The school fee letter for 2023-2024 has been released earlier today. We are confident that the new fees offer a reasonable and sustainable investment from all family for our school to offer optimal learning and living conditions to our students.

Year 2 and Year 3 students were able to resume GISES event this week, with a fun Football tournament kicking things off! The girls and the boys played a few friendly matches, having a good afternoon outside being active.

Be sure to watch for the Year 5 ecological footprint quiz next week during the EcoEd fashion show. If you answer their questions correctly, you may win a prize!

In Mr Justin’s Y10 Media Arts class, students are busy preparing for their Personal Project PPT pitch presentations in which they independently identify a technical topic and develop a creative project based on it – which they then ‘sell’ to the class. The aim is to encourage students to learn something new technically that personally interests them – in a highly self direct way. This project acts as a bridge to DP level Film (and other DP subjects) which require students to take on a greater level of responsibility for their own learning.

DP Korean Language and Literature classroom is busy preparing for the final exam. Rosie has been reading various non-literary texts such as columns, articles, advertisements, infographics, and blogs to prepare for Paper 1. She has created guide questions and written analysis essays. To prepare for Paper 2, she reviewed her notes on the Korean classic novel “Chunhyangjeon” and the Chinese author Wei Hua’s novel “To Live” and wrote several comparative essays.
DP韩国语言文学课正忙着迎战期末考试。Rosie一直在阅读各种非文学性的文本，如专栏、文章、广告、信息图表和博客，为试卷一做准备。她列出了指示性问题并撰写了分析文。至于针对试卷二的准备阶段，她复习了经典韩文小说《春香亭》和华人作家卫华的小说《活着》的笔记，并写了几篇类比文。
등 다양한 비문학 장르의 글을 읽고, 가이드 질문을 만들고, 분석문을 작성했습니다. Paper 2를 대비해서는 한국의 고전 소설 춘향전과 중국 작가 위화의 소설 ‘인생’을 공부하면서 작성해 두었던 노트를 다시 복습하며 비교에세이 여러 편을 작성해 보았습니다.

In the unit of the reform of opening up policy, we have learnt the political system and judicial system of contemporary China. We discuss the Chinese government’s response to governance challenges, its effectiveness and shortcomings and the current governance challenges faced by the Chinese government. Our students realized the importance of anti-corruption and the importance of China’s Stability and Maintenance Policy.
在改革开放这一单元中，我们探讨了中国的政治制度和司法制度。我們就中国政府对治理挑战的回应、有效性和不足，以及中国政府当前面临的治理挑战展开了讨论。在这节课上，同学们认识到反腐败和中国维稳政策的重要性。
