The trimester rotation one group for Grade 8 Theatre classes are completing their first unit, exploring the genre of ‘tableau vivant.’ Last week saw them on campus doing a site-specific extension – flash mob AND take to the stage to present their ‘living pictures’ to a formal audience viewing.
As we close this week, I am filled with anticipation for the next. The coming days offer a powerful snapshot of what makes UISG so exceptional: a deep commitment to academic growth, a thriving arts culture, competitive athletic spirit, and a truly connected community.

In a world that can often feel chaotic, how do we discover and uphold the values that unite us? This question was at the heart of UISG’s third Model United Nations conference, PACKMUN III, which carried the theme “Confirming Values Amidst Conflict.”
子どもたちの探求心を育てることが一番とし、生徒の個性を伸ばすためのカリキュラムを用意する「UISG」。同校は27 年の歴史(1998年から)を有する一貫制IBインターナショナルスクールで、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アフリカ、アジアなど世界 40カ国から来中した幼稚園から高校生まで(1.5歳から19歳まで)の生徒が在籍。また教師は世界32カ国から集まり、国際的な視野で行動するための能力やスキルを育むとともに、世界中の大学に進学する際に使える入学資格(国際バカロレア資格)を得ることを目的にしている「国際バカロレア カリキュラム」を用いて、授業を行っている。さらに同校の授業で使用される言語は英語で、生徒同士の交流にも英語が使われており、自然と英語スキルが向上する教育システムとなっているのが特長だ。さらに卓越した母語プログラムを実施しているのも忘れてはいけないポイント。日本語だけでなく、フランス語、ドイツ語、中国語、韓国語などの授業も行われている。

What another action-packed week it has been on our campus! It has been wonderful to see our students fully settled into their academic routines, bringing energy and focus to their classrooms.
