UISG K1 & Friendship
– All about K1 –
We started the year off with our first Unit of Inquiry: How We Express Ourselves.
With the central idea – People learn and express themselves through play.
In K1, play helps children:
- Explore Emotions: Understand feelings and build empathy.
- Enhance Communication: Foster teamwork and sharing.
- Develop Creativity: Create stories and solve problems.
Our “I Can” statements promote growth:
- I can change my mind and be flexible.
- I can choose my activities.
- I can wait my turn and be patient.
- I can share with friends.
- I can be caring towards others.
- I can tidy up after playing.
- I can help my friends.
- I can talk about my feelings.
