On a cool spring morning, a familiar face walked into Utahloy International School Guangzhou (UISG) with a warm smile—Mr. Kent Highet from Australia. He taught math, science, and business here for 14 years (2005-2019). Five years after leaving, his special return showed what makes UIS education special.

Mr. Highet clearly remembers helping start the Secondary building in 2014. For him, the classrooms got fancier, but what really matters here—the trust between teachers and kids, the unspoken teamwork—it’s all still here.
Highet先生至今清晰记得2014年参加中学楼奠基仪式的场景。那时，他作为学校外教团队的一员，亲手为教学楼铲下第一抔土。时隔多年重返故地，他漫步在焕然一新的校园里，感慨万千：“变化太大了！教学楼更现代了，实验室设备也更先进了，但最珍贵的东西从未改变——这里的人文气息、师生间的信任与默契，始终如一。”他说到这里，眼眶泛红，仿佛触碰到了时光的印记。

What Computers Can’t Replace : Real Human Connections

Walking past homerooms with AI tools, Mr. Highet pointed to students laughing in the homeroom: “Computers can solve math problems faster, but they’ll never replace *this*.” He smiled, watching a teacher high-five a student. “We’re teaching kids how to be good humans—how to care, how to work together. That’s what lasts forever.”
