Chantelle is an international educator from the UK, specializing in innovative, student-focused teaching. With over 10 years of experience at International Baccalaureate (IB) schools, she has worked in the UK, Ukraine, and China, and delivered workshops throughout Asia. Chantelle is passionate about enhancing student voice and agency. She achieves this by pioneering educational practices and mentoring fellow educators to embrace new ideas and confidently decentralize decision-making to empower learners.
She is highly collaborative and loves creating links both within and beyond the school community. She led and developed the North China Network for IB schools, creating a supportive group that arranged professional development events and job-a-likes for sharing best practice across schools. Chantelle enjoys parent workshops and discussions where they can explore educational philosophies and processes.
Chantelle will be joining the UISG family with her husband, Adam, who works in digital finance, and their Beijing rescue dog, JoJo. After 8 years in the north of China, they are looking forward to exploring the south, and experiencing all that Guangzhou and the surrounding area has to offer.
Ms. Chantelle has a formidable list of qualifications.

At Utahloy International School Guangzhou, we believe in empowering learners to be curious, independent, and innovative learners who embrace responsibility for shared guardianship of the planet.
We recognize that each member of our community plays a vital role both in the development of learners and of the planet. Our dedicated and passionate educators deliver a high-quality and rigorous education while modeling and embedding our values of being unique, inclusive, successful and globally-minded. As teaching staff, we consider ourselves learners too, and are committed to our pursuit of growing and developing professionally and personally. Not only does this allow us to embody lifelong learning but also to stay up-to-date on best practices and innovative educational approaches.
Many attributes distinguish UISG from other schools. In addition to our diverse, caring, and creative staff and faculty, our campus boasts a state-of-the-art learning environment with world-class facilities in a beautiful setting by the Pachili Reservoir. As Guangzhou’s oldest International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum school, UISG has always focused on inquiry and concept-based pedagogy where learners are empowered with voice and choice throughout the school day. Our connection with the IB has further enhanced our focus on international mindedness and global citizenship as we are part of a global community with over 5500 schools sharing the same IB philosophy and working towards the same goal of transforming education and caring for our world.
A standout element of our school is our Mother Tongue Language Programme. While our main language of instruction is in English, UISG is proud of its diverse community with various rich cultural backgrounds and to honour and strengthen these cultural backgrounds and therefore our identities, we embed mother language learning into our school day. We view mother language as a vital element for our learners as it not only serves as a catalyst for learning additional languages but is also crucial for cognitive development and long-term academic success.
