Welcome back! I hope you all had lovely, restful holidays and have enjoyed the first week back at school. The students have jumped straight back into learning and it’s been wonderful to see all their smiling faces around the school. Happy Friday and Valentine’s Day!
Farewell Holly
Unfortunately, I must share that after 15 years at UISG, Mrs Holly Huang will be leaving us on February 20th for personal reasons. Her departure will be a significant loss to our community. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Holly’s departure will come with a few Chinese teacher changes for some students across the year levels. I will send updates on ManageBac on Monday 17th February to inform parents of their child’s Chinese teacher for the rest of the year.
Conferences February 19th
K – K3 will have Parent Teacher conferences next Wednesday. These conferences are WITHOUT students but we understand that you may need childcare, therefore children can be at reception or outside the classroom at the time of the conference.
Year 1 – 5 will have Parent Student Teacher conferences. These conferences are WITH students and they must be present in the conference to help set goals for the rest of the academic year.
A reminder that for all students, this is not a normal school day and students should be supervised by their parents when on campus.
Bus Change Procedure
Just a reminder to parents if you would like to make a change to your child’s bus schedule:
Please use SchoolsBuddy for bus change and also inform the homeroom teacher via ManageBac or Email that the student is going to be picked up or not on the bus.
When you request a bus change, initially it is pending. Once approved you should get notification. This change should be seen in the SchoolsBuddy register.
Please note all changes must be made before 12 O’Clock that day.

很遗憾，但我必须通知大家，在 UISG 工作了 15 年后， Holly Huang 女士将于 2 月 20 日因个人原因离开我们。她的离开对我们学校来说是一个重大损失。我们祝愿她在未来的工作中一切顺利。

2 月 19 日的会议

校车变更流程
温馨提醒家长，如果您想更改孩子的校车时刻表：
请使用 SchoolsBuddy 进行校车变更，并通过 ManageBac 或电子邮件通知班主任学生将要被接走或者不乘坐校车。
当您申请校车变更时，最初处于待处理状态。一旦获得批准，您将收到通知。此变更会在 SchoolsBuddy 登记册中显示。

Dear Parents and Guardians,
One of the ways that we support learning is by using different data that we gather on students. The ‘data triangle’ encompasses student achievement, student aptitude and student attitude.
The Year 12 students will be receiving their Predicted Grades at the end of next week, and this is an excellent example of how that data triangle works – by looking at student aptitude and attitude, and taking into consideration mock exams and DP assessments, teachers provide thoughtfully considered predictions of what grades students will achieve in each of their Diploma subjects. These Predicted Grades also give universities information they need to be able to make offers to our students. There will be more information shared by our College Counselor on the large number of excellent offers that our students have already been given by universities around the world.
Year 10s have just completed their MYP mock eAssessments, and this also provides some really valuable data for teachers and students. As this is the first time students have taken this particular assessment style in a formal setting, it gives them a good sense of what to expect from the actual eAssessments which take place in May. It also provides useful data for students making their DP choices.
Connected to that point, here is a reminder to Year 10 parents to register for the important meeting to discuss your child’s Diploma Programme (DP) subject choices with the school’s DP Coordinator and College Counsellor. We will discuss how appropriate these choices are based on their previous MYP academic performance. Additionally, we will explore how these subjects may impact university applications. Your input as parents is valuable as we guide your child towards their future success in DP. The conferences will be Feb 24 – Mar 14. Please book teachers’ time on the SchoolsBuddy by Feb 21.
