K2 took a field trip to the strawberry farm to pick fresh berries. In their current unit of inquiry, children are exploring the world using their senses.
From the moment the group exited the bus, everyone could smell the sweet and yummy smell of strawberries. Children used their sight to choose bright red berries. They used their touch to decide if the berry was firm and fresh, not soft, and mushy. The last and best part will be enjoying the taste of the strawberries.
Making real world connections is an important part of learning through inquiry and play. By using their senses to engage with the strawberry farm, the Wolf Cubs have built a wonderful memory.
