In the Primary Assembly this week we celebrated International World Art Day by bringing art, music and dance forms together. World Art Day, is a celebration to promote the development, diffusion and enjoyment of art. Art nurtures creativity, innovation and cultural diversity for all people across the globe and plays an important role in sharing knowledge and encouraging curiosity and dialogue.
Around the world there are so many different interpretations of art, dance, and music, inspired by a range of different experiences and history. Students explored the ways they could express themselves by choosing art materials to communicate their ideas following performances and videos from around the world. Our UISG students used their knowledge of the art elements, art materials and established artists to inspire their ideas. In house groups artists selected art curators from their team to display the artwork created. A big thank you to Ms Aleksa for sharing her Lithuanian dance history and Ms Joanne with a fabulous performance demonstrating her Colombian folk dance.
We are so privileged to be able to embrace over 50 nationalities at UISG and to have the opportunity to be inspired by each other on a daily basis. Through art we can communicate without language barriers and borders.
