The Year 1 field trip to the Guangzhou Zoo was a great success! Aligned with our current UOI, ‘Sharing the Planet’, the students explored the central idea that human activity influences the environment and all living things. Before our visit, students researched the zoo, specifically finding facts about any animals of interest. Whilst at the zoo, the students were able to further explore ideas of habitats, food chains, and animal characteristics.
In addition, there have been interesting discussion points which have come from our visit. Students will further inquire into different habitats and how human activity affects animal lives and environments. The questions of sustainability and why we need to protect our planet will be further illuminated by this excellent field trip!
