During the weekend a group dedicated UISG Early Years teachers attended the Associate of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) ECE Conference hosted by Concordia Shanghai. This year’s overarching theme of the Whole Child included holistic education and skill development in early childhood education which we know play a huge role in children’s lives. Sessions included a wide range of topics from building children’s social emotional well-being, to play based learning, creating an environment that honors children, and much more.
Our talented Ms Jai and Ms Joanna presented a very well attended session on Visible thinking routines, sharing their expertise with teachers from all around China, Macau, and Hong Kong. The UISG community should feel proud of how well our team represented the school at a national conference.
Being away for a weekend between teaching weeks can be a challenge for teachers, but we know the new learning, collaboration, and connection of such conferences building skills and directly benefits our Wolf Cubs in the classroom. When teachers are life-long learners, children receive the best education.
