University Info Sessions – HKUST
University representatives are invited to give our students an overview of higher education opportunities around the world. A representative and a UISG alumni from HKUST visited us on Nov 9 to give our year 11 and 12 students a special look into the study options and experience in HKUST.

Reverse Admissions Tools – Y12 Presentation
Have you heard of ‘Reverse Admissions’? Reverse admissions is an innovative, game-changing approach to college admission process where universities reach out to and even extend application offers to students, instead of students preparing their applications to universities and waiting to hear back an with an offer.To aid with year 12 students in their college application journey, UISG college counseling has introduced 2 reverse admissions tools that are completely free. The mechanism is the same — students complete a very simple profile and upload it to platforms, and then universities look over these and reach out to students.
- Through Mētō (https://meto-intl.org/), top universities encourage students to apply
- Through Concourse (https://concourse.global/), universities give offers directly.

Subject Choice and Level Requirements – Y11 PresentationTo meet the minimum requirements to apply for university, the choices of your IB DP subjects matter. Plans to help support for year 10 students to make the best choice for their subjects before they enter year 11 are well under way, under the collaboration of the College Counsellor and DP Coordinator. However, did you also know that the levels of the subject choice can matter too? With programmes that require an advanced level of understanding of a certain topic, they will specify that students take a class at a higher level. Junior students were given a presentation on this recently, and as year 11 is the perfect time to check minimum requirements of university programmes,encourage your student to do so now!

- Jan throughout – Hong Kong Regular applications
