The tradition of Christmas is recognized and celebrated in many international hotels through a ‘Tree Lighting Ceremony’. Last Friday, the Intermediate Choir was part of the Sheraton Hotel’s ceremony.
With an IFOL performance the very next day, the Intermediate Choir nevertheless boarded an afternoon bus for Tianhe to represent UISG. Ms Jana led the choir, who were looking very smart in their formal uniform, with ties and blazers, with a strong ‘support crew’ of parents and teachers.
Some members of the choir also brought their violins, and with our Instrument Tuition Programme violin teacher, Ms Angie, presented instrumental music for the gathering crowd before the tree lighting, with Ms Jessie accompanying on piano.
The Intermediate Choir sang either side of the Christmas Tree being lit, the first songs were ‘One Candle’ and ‘That’s Christmas to me’. After the Christmas Tree was ablaze, the choir sang three more songs, ‘All I Want From Christmas’, ‘Silent Night’ in Chinese and in English, and ‘We Wish You a Utahloy Merry Christmas’.
The Sheraton management and guests were swept up into the festive season with another UISG choir adding a sparkle to their evening.
Congratulations, Ms Jana and the Intermediate Choir!
