Y5 recently went on a trip to the South China Botanic Gardens In Guangzhou in connection with their Sharing the planet unit “ biodiversity relies on maintaining the interdependent balance of organisms within systems”.
They have been exploring ecosystems and biomes across the world and this excursion gave them a wonderful opportunity to see for themselves how plant life differs in different climates.
This helped build understanding for the unit and in particular the inquiry into interdependence of ecosystems and the environment. This all added to independent research projects back in school. A great morning out for all.
