In year 2 we learned about the journey of food in UOI. We took a field trip to Huiling farm and to the Kewpie factory. In the end, students shared some of their learning. Below are two videos, a story written by a student and pictures of the factory visit.
The Field Trip by Victoria
On Feb. 28th 2024, we went to a factory called “Kewpie”. We took the bus, 30 to 40 minutes. Soon we arrived at the Kewpie factory. First, we went to the room we were going to make sandwiches. Then, we put our backpacks on our seats, we went upstairs. After, we learned how salad was made, and we watched TV about the salad. After that, we watched how they make the salad dressing. Finally, sandwiches! We first made the bread at the same area. Then we put some put some salad dressing with an egg. After, we squeezed the egg and made egg sauce. The egg popped out from Hernan’s bag, and it fell right on Mr. David’s hand. It was funny. Last we made use a mould to make the sandwich. How to make the sandwich?You need: a triangle bag, an egg, two pieces of bread, salad sauce.First: put the egg in the triangle bag.Second: squeeze the sauce in the back and squeeze the egg with it. Third: Squeeze and cut a hole on the pointy place and squeeze. Put the bread on top of the sauce and done !
