The annual RockFest returned to the Atrium, filling the Secondary building with music over three lunchtimes. Bands rocked the books during Book Week and rocked their dedicated audience.
Monday saw the Year 10 rock band, 7th Floor, kicking off the festival, performing a spirited rendition of ‘Life is a Highway’ by Tom Cochrane.
Year 11 group, NJC UNIVERSE K, then took the stage, using their three-part vocal harmonies to great effect in a medley of ‘Still Life’ by BIGBANG and ‘Hong Qiang Wei Bai Mei Gui’ by G.E.M.
Tuesday, Year 11 rock band, ECLIPSE, performed ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’ by Shawn Mendes. Since their debut at the IFOL in December, ECLIPSE has become no stranger to the stage, representing UISG in March at the ISMAG RockFest at GOAT in Panyu.
Wednesday, another UISG favourite took the stage, with THE HEYDAYS performing ‘Viva La Vida’ by Coldplay, repeating their success from the ISMAG RockFest.
Our rock bands keep forming, and we were excited to welcome a new band from Year 8, EMS, for their debut performance, presenting ‘Saturn’ by SZA.
We look forward to hearing another newly formed Year 8 rock band before the end of the year, along with stalwarts from Year 11, INDECISION, and the return for one last show of our Year 12 rock bands, JAGABEE and DP KOR.
Keep those songs coming. Keep practicing. Stay tuned! Rock on!
