We are thrilled to share the exciting accomplishments of our UISG VEX Robotics Teams at the ACAMIS International VEX Robotics Championships on April 20th and 21st. Our talented students showcased their skills and competed against students from 14 schools across China.
In the VEX IQ division, out of 27 teams, two of our three teams made it to the finals. It is a remarkable achievement, and we are especially proud that one of our teams secured a fourth-place finish!
Contrary to popular belief, this competition emphasizes teamwork and communication skills. Students are randomly paired with teammates from different schools and age groups. Together, they collaborate to develop strategies and accumulate the highest combined score. Throughout the day, each team engages in five or more different partnerships. Moreover, students face interviews with judges and complete a series of skill-based tasks, including autonomous driving.
While one of our teams didn’t reach the finals, they excelled in the Unknown Missions Challenge (UMC). Within a tight timeframe of three hours, students received a new challenge and had to plan, build, and program a robot to accomplish the task. Our team exhibited exceptional innovation and problem-solving abilities in tackling this challenge.
Unknown Missions Challenge
The dedication demonstrated by our VEX students in recent weeks has been truly inspiring. They willingly gave up recess time, attended extra Saturday sessions, worked diligently at home for countless hours, and devoted their weekends to compete. With such commitment, it is evident that UISG robotics has a bright future in the upcoming season.
We are immensely proud of our students’ achievements, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to their families for their unwavering support. Together, we look forward to continued success and growth in the field of robotics at UISG.
