COURSE VISION
Grounded in Hong Kong, engaged with the world
Our HKDSE curriculum is rooted in the heritage of Chinese culture, connected to a global educational perspective and shaped by the local ethos of Hong Kong. It builds the academic skills students need for university and their careers, along with cultural confidence and a global mindset.
The program also draws on the IB’s project-based approach. Each subject works back from clear goals, so students understand and apply what they learn through real tasks. Outside class, English is the main language of activities, debates, MUN, sport and drama.

FOUR-YEAR PATHWAY
From foundations to final exams
Four years give students time to build knowledge, develop skills and refine exam technique, without the pressure of short-term cramming.
Preparatory year
Strengthen subject foundations, adapt to the HKDSE curriculum and build Chinese-English bilingual skills.
Core and electives
Systematic study of core and elective subjects, completing the curriculum framework.
Depth and strategy
In-depth mastery of exam content and test-taking strategies, with mock exams in phases.
Final year
Comprehensive revision, the official HKDSE examinations and university application guidance.
COURSE CURRICULUM
Four core subjects, plus electives
All students take the four core subjects and usually choose two or three electives that match their interests and future plans. The HKDSE does not split students into arts or science streams, so they can combine subjects freely.

Subjects are graded from 1 to 5**, and universities usually look at a student’s best five or six subjects. Every graduate also earns the UISG High School Diploma.

Our HKDSE program is built on the system developed at our sister school, UIS Zengcheng (UISZ), where three cohorts graduated between 2022 and 2026.
