Arts are integral to the learning at Utahloy International School Guangzhou. We offer a wide range of opportunities to ensure that students are stimulated to think and articulate their ideas in new ways through various instruments and technologies. Learning about and through arts is fundamental to the development of the whole person, promoting creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and social interactions.
UISG has a creative community of young performing artists through the Early Years, Primary, and Secondary divisions. Along with curricular and extra-curricular performing arts opportunities on campus, UISG is a member of ACAMIS, which provides nationwide Arts-related opportunities. Also, as a founding member of the International Schools Music Association of Guangzhou (ISMAG), our young performers can participate in events in the wider Guangzhou community.
At UISG, arts are identified as both Performing Arts and Visual Arts. Arts education is incorporated into both the primary and the middle years programme. Arts promote attitudes such as empathy, expression, and appreciation. There is ample opportunity to enhance the observation skills that enable one to identify uniqueness and commonalities that connect us. Our arts programmes nurture a passion for various arts; they also teach aesthetic sensibility and creativity to students.
