This week K1 classes went on their first field trip! It was the first time participating in an out of school experience for most of the Wolf Cubs and they were so excited.
Playdough is a blank canvas and becomes anything a child can imagine. It’s the ultimate open-ended activity, encouraging kids to think outside of the box while also developing fine motor skills. Playing with playdough directly influences academic skills like writing.
K2 took a field trip to the strawberry farm to pick fresh berries. In their current unit of inquiry, children are exploring the world using their senses.
At UISG we have a Play-based Early Years program. Children engage in Big Body Play which include actions like rolling, chasing, spinning, jumping, and swinging. These body movements happen individually, with friends or groups, and in structured activities like outdoor learning and physical education classes.
On Monday, March 6th, Year 2 visited Huiling Farm. The students toured the farm and were allowed to feed pigs, cows, chickens and rabbits. They also had an opportunity to plant vegetables and make their own giant pizza. Please watch the videos to see how our day went.
