It was all smiles after the Year 4 students’ exciting and meaningful field trip to Stone Mineral Park! Our current unit of inquiry explores Earth’s geography and landforms and how Earth’s changes affect human interactions and settlement.
The UISG MUN students participated in the RAMSMUN conference 2023 from 17th to 19th March 2023. This year the theme was ‘Pioneering New Beginnings’. Our year 10 students, ChaeWon, Jugyeong, JaeYong, DaeHyun, Yu King, Rui Hai, GyungHyun, BoMi and Anna, participated as delegates representing different countries. Our year 10 student, YoonSoo, was appointed the Chair of the conference.
The Semester 2 Year 8 Theatre classes are completing their first unit, exploring the genre of ‘tableau vivant’. Last week saw them take to the stage to present their ‘living pictures’.
Playdough is a blank canvas and becomes anything a child can imagine. It’s the ultimate open-ended activity, encouraging kids to think outside of the box while also developing fine motor skills. Playing with playdough directly influences academic skills like writing.
Over 2000 visitors enjoyed UISG’s International Festival of Light last weekend! It was truly fantastic to welcome a steady stream of parents, students, staff and guests onto campus to enjoy world cuisine and live entertainment. The celebration of our diverse community made it a great comeback for what’s always been a staple event on the UISG calendar.
It’s always a different feeling in the air when the Year 12 Visual Arts students are exhibiting their final artworks. It’s a feeling of completion, near the end of their IB program, but mainly, it’s a moment of joy.
The Secondary Music Recital Series continued this month featuring the Year 9 Music class. As part of their Concert Time (solo performance) unit, the nine students performed across two concerts to an audience made up of their Theatre and Visual Arts peers and teachers. We were even fortunate to welcome our Primary Music teachers to the audience.
