The Intermediate Choir of our school had the opportunity on Wednesday, 20th December, to spread some festive cheer and showcase their musical talents at Top Plaza.
The UISG Performing Arts department was very excited to welcome back our ISMAG Piano Competition adjudicator, Professor Liu Huiming, from the College of Music and Dance, Guangzhou University.
Year 8 explored the Italian genre of Commedia dell’arte through their Art of Comedy unit. First applying their research skills to an investigation of Commedia stock characters, students then formed groups and presented a Commedia scenario to their Year 8 peers.
The Secondary Music Recital Series for the Year 10 Music class ended this past week, with the third group of performers presenting their classroom concert. As part of their Concert Time (solo performance) unit, the eleven Year 10 musicians performed across three concerts to an audience made up of their Visual Arts peers and teachers.
In PYP we value student-initiated action. On Monday 13th November, some students took the opportunity to perform on the basketball court, bringing their music to the outdoors.
On Friday 10 November UISG hosted the International Schools Music Association of Guangzhou ‘ISMAG’ Piano Competition 2023 in the Admin Hall.
Friday 13 October 2023 was a busy day for the Performing Arts department, featuring student performers from all three programmes: PYP, MYP and DP.

With the end of the academic year only a few acts away, it was time for the MYP Theatre students to showcase their final performances in what turned into a two-week Theatre Festival!
On Tuesday the UISG Primary Choirs welcomed to campus their counterparts from the American International School Guangzhou (AISG) and Clifford International School (CIS) for the two-day ISMAG SingUp! Primary Choir Festival.
