The 2024 Y12 DP Visual Exhibition was opened successfully on Wednesday afternoon, March 6, 2024, at the former ULC building. This show marks on the exhibiting students’ final momentum of their two years of artistic hard work. All those technical experimentation, artistic proposal, studio work development and refinement, critique session, and art journaling has finally paid off. It is surely a celebration of journey and achievements. To share this celebration by audience coming to the exhibition is truly a wonderful appreciation.
With the title of ‘4am Nirvana’, we could see a wide range of artistic exploration are being displayed which hopefully could transcend the viewers’ aesthetic experience. This exhibition might consist of beautiful physical objects, but their actual power is more conceptual. They will stay in our mind as a concept, idea, and memory.

For the class of 2024, the six Visual Arts HL students are Emily Chen, Lila Pelletier, Melody Peng, Naomi Rojano Ruiz, Zhen Torreda Li, and Queena Wang. It is a milestone for these five young women as they move on with their life. In the next several weeks with their peers, they’ll face the IB exam. Afterwards, they’ll spread out to different parts of the world and start another journey. I am confident that this exhibition will stay in their memory and continue to grow as they nurture these artistic and creative ideas into their life and future. I could only hope these ideas could make a positive impact on any community where they’ll be a part of.
This exhibition will open for school community on UISG campus until Tuesday, March 12, 2024. This year, we are so really proud to continue this exhibition at the beautiful Art Institute of the Orient, Shamian Island, Guangzhou, starting from March 30 until April 7, 2024, which will be open for public viewing.
