It was a perfect autumn day on Saturday, September 13th, as UISG hosted its annual Welcome Picnic—a day filled with joy, connection, and celebration for new and returning families alike.

The event began on a warm and welcoming note. Ms. Dorothy Wong, UEF Chair, and Dr. Dan Mullen, UIS Superintendent, gave heartfelt addresses, extending a warm welcome to new families and thanking the community for coming together. UPTA Co-Chairs Ms. Anneta and Ms. Cindy also took the stage to share their remarks. Their words highlighted the spirit of belonging that defines the UISG family. The event also featured a special introduction to the faculty and staff who have newly joined UISG this year.

Live performances lit up the picnic! Our talented students and teachers took to the stage to share music that had everyone clapping along. The sound of applause and melody filled the air, adding energy and excitement to the event.

The picnic grounds were packed with fun! From fishing games and basketball tosses to golf challenges and refreshments, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Our student-led booths were especially popular—not only did they bring creativity and fun to the day, but they also made meaningful progress toward their CAS project goals.

This year’s photo competition was a hit! With categories like “Best Family Photo,”“Best School Spirit,” and “Best Funny Face,” everyone was encouraged to join in the fun.
