Dear UISG Families,
We’re thrilled to remind you that our “United in Spirit: UEF Family Day” is tomorrow, Saturday, March 1st, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM at UISG!
We’ve been busy preparing an exciting day filled with activities, games, food, Lucky Draw, and entertainment for all ages.
Don’t forget to bring comfortable clothes (that you don’t mind getting colorful for the Color Run!), sunscreen, and water bottles.
Everyone is welcome, so see you tomorrow!

Happy Friday, Everyone! Firstly, a huge congratulations to year 4 and their successful Business Bonanza today, so much hard work and learning from our Year 4s.

Professional Development Days – Next Week
Just a reminder that it’s time for teachers to do some learning and so next Thursday and Friday the school will be closed to students.
Parent Workshop
I’d like to share a valuable resource that we used during our Parent Workshop yesterday on empowering children and developing independent learners. Attached are some checklists that you can use to see what tasks your children can do independently. Are there areas that your children can work on at home?

Please let me know if you found this resource useful!
Year 8 Project
Dear UISG parents,
I, Tomo from 8S, am collecting 250ml soy milk to donate to the homeless people of Guangzhou. Recently, donations for homeless people have decreased, which is leaving them with fewer resources. To solve this problem, I would like to ask parents of UISG to donate 250ml soy milk. It would be very helpful if you could donate to help their lives.
If you are interested in helping homeless people, please donate as much soy milk you can. The more the better. Please leave the soy milk in the cardboard box at the secondary atrium (where it says “Soy Milk Donation”) or in the lecture theatre before March 14, 2025. I believe it would be a good idea to get the help of your children to bring the soy milk to school and to leave it in the donation box. Please note that the expiration date of the soy milk needs to be after April.
We are aiming for 600 donations in total, and I will promise the these will help a lot. Your donations will be sent to the people in need by Homeless Love, an organisation that supports homeless people. I am looking forward to your support and kindness.
Sincerely, Tomo Yamaguchi 8S

3 Mar – 7 Mar (Week 25B)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you know, we are always looking for ways to build student agency and give leadership opportunities. Our Year 6-8 assembly this week was a great example of that, with our younger student House Captains leading their Houses in a House Dance competition. Not only was it a fun event, but it also gave those students a taste of being in charge of a big group of students.

UEF Family Day March 1st
We also have more than 30 students running booths and leading activities at the UEF Family Day tomorrow, March 1st. Another great opportunity for student leadership. I am looking forward to seeing lots of our students and families at this fun and enjoyable event.
Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences – March 12
Please save the date for the Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences (PTSC) which take place on Wednesday March 12th. Parent sign-up information will be sent out next week.
VEX Robotics update
I’m delighted to share that a number of our students qualified for the ACAMIS VEX Robotics Nationals at CIS this Friday through Sunday. This is a significant milestone for our first-year VEX V5 robotics team, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and dedication to reach this point.
