As we look ahead, our campus is buzzing with energy, from student performances and athletic competitions to special events that bring our community together.

Monday, 14th May
- Secondary Rock Fest kicks off – Enjoy live student bands during lunchtime!
- GISSA Spring AGM @ ISAC – Leaders from across Guangzhou’s international schools gather to shape the future of interschool activities.
- Visiting Artist Activities all week.
Tuesday, 15th May
- More Rock Fest performances – Another chance to celebrate our talented musicians.
- TEDx UISG – Inspiring ideas worth spreading, led by our student speakers.
- MS Basketball vs. BSG @ UISG (4:00 PM) – Come cheer on our Middle School athletes in this exciting home game!
- Visiting Artist Activities all week.
Wednesday, 16th May
- ISMAG Primary Sing Up! Choir Festival @ CISGZ – Our young vocalists take the stage alongside peers from other schools.
- Visiting artists in action – Creativity flourishes as guest artists work with our students.
Thursday, 17th May
- EY Sports Day & Family Picnic (Periods 1-3) – A morning of fun, games, and community spirit, organized by our Year 10 students.
- Battle of the Books (Y4/Y5) – A celebration of reading and friendly competition.
- HS Football GISSA Division Finals @ BSG (2:45–6:00 PM) – Support our Secondary School team as they compete for the championship!
- Visiting Artist Activities all week.
Friday, 18th May
- Final day for Year 12 students – We’ll honor their journey at the Year 12 Farewell Assembly (11:15 am – 12:00 pm).
It’s going to be a week full of memorable moments, and I encourage everyone to get involved, cheer each other on, and make the most of these opportunities.

Welcome Back, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. It’s been lovely to see all the students in school, ready to learn and all with smiling faces!
MAP Testing
I’m sure your children have come home to tell you that they completed their Math Map Test today. It’s that time of year again for MAP testing. Earlier in the year I shared that our second test would be in February, however due to a variety of factors we decided to move it to April.
The reading and language usage test will be conducted next week.
K3 are also taking the math and reading test this time, this is for them to have a first look at the MAP test and become familiar with using the iPad for the test. This really improves the validity and reliability of their MAP test in Year 1.
MAP Growth assessment results will be shared with parents in the coming weeks.

MAP测试通知
相信孩子们已经告诉您，今天他们完成了数学MAP测试。又到了一年一度的MAP测试季。年初我曾通知第二次测试原定于二月进行，但由于多方面因素，我们决定调整至四月。
阅读与语言使用测试将于下周进行。
本次K3年级学生也将首次参与数学和阅读测试，目的是让他们初步了解MAP测试形式，并熟悉使用iPad完成测试。这将显著提升他们一年级时MAP测试的有效性和可靠性。
MAP成长评估报告将于未来几周内发送给家长。

14 April – 18 April (Week 30A)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week all students in Years 6-10 had MAP testing. These Measures of Academic Progress give us a chance to see how students are performing in English language use, English reading, and Maths. Once all the testing is finished, teachers will look at the data to see how they can help students develop further along with what next steps could be taken.
Year 12 final week
Next week is the final week of school for the Year 12 students before they start their Diploma exams later this month. Year 12 parents are invited to the final assembly which takes place on Friday April 18th from 11:15 – 12:00 in the MFH.
Visiting Artists
Next week is also an exciting week for our visual arts community, as we welcome 2 visiting artists who will be working with students throughout the week.
