Dear UISG Families,
As we prepare for the upcoming week, we are excited to announce that on Monday, we will host the Parent Book Club with our Primary Counselor, Sharon Lun. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to engage in literature and take part in meaningful discussions within our school community. We encourage all parents to join us and make the most of this enriching experience.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who joined us for today’s Primary Talent Show. Your support made the event truly special for our talented students, who highlighted their skills and creativity.
In addition, please note that on Tuesday, our students will have GISSA Basketball practice, so be sure they come prepared with their gear. Wednesday will feature the ISAC Swimming competition, and we invite everyone to cheer on our talented swimming team as they compete.
Lastly, please remember that Thursday and Friday of next week are designated as Staff Professional Development Days, meaning there will be no school for students on these days. ACAMIS X-Country is also taking place on those days. Thank you for your continued support, and we wish you a wonderful weekend filled with beautiful weather!

8:30 – 11:00 Year 1 – 5 Sports Day – including some parent races!
11:15 – 12:00 ECA Fair – sign your children up to Round 2 of ECAs
12:00 – 13:00 Bring a picnic and enjoy lunch on the field (all children from year 1 – 5 are required to bring lunch, there will be no lunch available in the canteen)
13:15 – 15:00 Children will go back to afternoon classes and the UPTA All Parents Meeting will take place
Home/School Communication Reminder
Communication is extremely important for ongoing home/school partnerships and is one of the best ways to support children. If you have feedback or concerns, please contact me or the teachers any time. This can be in any language you feel most comfortable in.
For the well-being of all, our communication guidelines are:
· Parents and teachers to send messages/emails between 7am and 5pm, as much as possible
· Response time is within 24 hours, on weekdays
· If an urgent situation occurs, response time could be shorter or messages/emails could be outside of the 7am – 5pm timeframe.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week we had a Book Fair in the library, an Open Day tour, a Cross-Country competition, a visit from the British Consulate, and an International Schools Piano Competition (ISMAG). And that was a quiet week!
ISMAG
The ISMAG Piano Competition 2024 was held on Wednesday. Not only did the audience marvel at 24 young pianists from UISG, AISG, BSG, CIS and Clifford, but UISG managed to pick up some awards! Our UISG representatives were: Brian 11S, James 9U, Bokai 8S, Chloe 6U, Shawn 6U and Miki 4G; who all played well. Brian was awarded Third Place in the Secondary Category (13-18 years old). Chloe was awarded Second Place in the Primary Category (8-12 years old).
Assessment in the MYP
On Wednesday 13th we have a parent information session on Assessment in the MYP. This session will provide an overview of the different aspects of assessment in the MYP, including the eAssessments which are taken in Year 10. There will also be the practical aspect of how to access this information on Managebac. Please bring a device that you would normally view Managebac on (whether that is a phone, tablet or laptop). MAP reports– Year 6-10 students
The reports for the MAP assessments that were taken in October have been uploaded to Managebac. You can find them in your child’s Portfolio on Managebac. The assessments give an indication of where a student is at currently in their maths, reading, and language usage; and for students who have taken MAP tests at UISG before they also show the progress over time. It is important to remember that the MAP data is one of many different pieces of data that we gather in the Secondary school, and the MAP scores should be looked at in that context, and not in isolation. One other thing to note is that as teachers we will be spending some time during our Professional Development days unpacking the MAP data, and other data, and looking at how we can use these data to support student learning.

6-10年级MAP测试
