Dear UISG Community,
We’re excited to share the tremendous success of our recent parent workshop, “Dive into Inquiry (Pt.1)”! This interactive session brought the world of inquiry-based learning to life for our parents.
01. Workshop Highlights:
- Hands-on Inquiry ExperienceParents didn’t just learn about inquiry – they experienced it! Through engaging activities, they got a taste of the inquiry strategies our students use daily.
- Tower-Building ChallengeThe highlight of the day was our collaborative tower-building activity. Parents applied their Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, working in teams to solve this fun engineering problem. It was a perfect demonstration of how inquiry sparks creativity and enhances problem-solving skills!
- Multilingual ResourcesUnderstanding the diversity of our community, we provided IB materials in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and English. This ensured all parents could engage fully with the content.
- Dive into InquiryParticipants explored the essence of inquiry, its process, and the various types used in education. They discovered how inquiry fuels the learning journey at UISG.
- Bridging School and HomeParents left equipped with practical inquiry strategies to use at home, strengthening the connection between school learning and family life.
02. Parent Feedback:
“The tower-building challenge was a real eye-opener! I now understand why my child comes home full of questions and enthusiasm. This workshop has given me new ways to engage with my child’s learning.” – UISG Parent
03. Looking Ahead:
This workshop is just the beginning ! We’re committed to offering more engaging sessions that bridge the gap between home and school learning. Together, we’re nurturing a community of curious, collaborative, and confident learners.
