This past weekend, Utahloy International School Guangzhou (UISG) made its mark at the ACAMIS VEX Robotics National Competition hosted at CIS in Panyu! 🏆
What makes this achievement even more incredible? Our teams had only a few classes to prepare after the robots arrived, while many competitors had months of preparation. Yet, our students rose to the challenge and delivered outstanding results!

上个周末，广州誉德莱外籍人员子女学校（UISG）在位于番禺的CIS举办的ACAMIS VEX机器人全国比赛中取得了辉煌的成绩！🏆
这项成就更令人惊叹的是，我们的团队在机器人到达后仅有少数课程时间进行准备，而许多竞争对手已经准备了数月。然而，我们的学生迎接挑战，展现了出色的成绩！
🌟 Why This is a BIG Deal:
Our VEX IQ team, Byte Wolves (Neev Desai, Zack Hsiao, and Ryan Geyer), exemplified exceptional sportsmanship and resilience throughout the competition.
Notably, they were one of the youngest teams to compete, showcasing impressive skills against older competitors.
Despite encountering significant challenges, including two breakdowns of their robot, the team displayed an unwavering “never give up” attitude.
Their remarkable ability to troubleshoot and repair under pressure enabled them to continue competing successfully.
Ultimately, they secured 23rd place overall and were honored with the Sportsmanship Award—a true testament to their teamwork and positive spirit! 🐺✨
🌟 为什么这是一件大事：
我们的VEX IQ团队，Byte Wolves（Neev Desai, Zack Hsiao 和 Ryan Geyer），在比赛中展现了卓越的体育精神和韧性。
值得一提的是，他们是参赛队伍中最年轻的团队之一，面对年长的竞争对手展现了令人印象深刻的技能。

Both of our V5 Teams, Ctr+Alt+Defeat (Mikayla Verb, Aarav Deepak, Evan Huang, and Shawn Liu) and Byte Pack (Daisy Fu, Frank Whiston, Samuel Whiston and Xoraya Zaqtan), had just 6 club sessions to design, build, and program their robot from scratch.
Meanwhile, many of their competitors started working on their robots at the beginning of the school year. Despite this, our teams made an epic comeback from Regionals to attend nationals.
Ctr+Alt+Defeat (Mikayla Verb, Aarav Deepak, Evan Huang, and Shawn Liu) was able to secure a spot in the finals!
Although the competition was fierce with them as the 16th place alliance competing against the 1st place, their alliance won autonomous, and they were hopeful knowing they could create something better in the upcoming year with more time to dedicate. 💪
Their journey is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and determination.
Competing against seasoned teams, they held their own and proved that UISG Robotics is a program to watch.
This is a truly inspiring feat for a first-year team! 🐺✨

The excitement is building for next year! Our students are already looking forward to dedicating more time to their robots, refining their skills, and taking their creations to the next level.
But it doesn’t stop there—they’re also passionate about growing the program to include more students and teams.
Together, they’re building a legacy of innovation and teamwork at UISG.
