The UISG Student Council and House Captains, with support of staff leadership, shook themselves off from an August start to leap into September with Spirit Week: an energetic, fun, colorful week of student-initiated events and activities. House Points were on offer as the champion Warriors carefully placed their 2023-2024 House Cup in the trophy cabinet, meaning all Houses begin again at zero points. Here we go again Dragons, Pandas and Tigers. Is it your turn to win the House Cup?
Monday
Color Wars – year levels across the whole school coordinated in a UISG rainbow of color, from Early Years in orange to Year 5 in red and Year 12 in purple.
In Secondary a lunchtime event of Musical Chairs saw some fast-moving musical wolves winning points for their Houses.
Tuesday
Twins Day – everyone was seeing double, and sometimes triple, as students and staff embraced the day with their doppelgänger.
The Secondary lunchtime activity involved a mural project contributed to by all four Houses. A magical colorful artistic achievement created in such a short amount of time.
Wednesday
Wacky Wednesday unleashed a Pajama Day and Crazy Hair Day. DP students organized a CAS Lunchtime Concert to add a music mix to the day.
Then it was all on! Staff versus student volleyball at lunchtime. The MFH was ablaze with sporting talent!
Thursday
Celebrity Day – celebrities galore, from pop stars to sports stars, tech stars to film stars. Although you had to be careful in the MFH at lunchtime as the Hungry Hippos came out to play.
Friday
House Colors and House Mascot Dress Up.
Red – Go Dragons! Blue – Go Pandas! Yellow – Go Tigers! Green – Go Warriors!
Students and staff across the school showed their true colors as they celebrated their Houses. At lunchtime Secondary students tried out their skills at bingo trivia in the MFH to stretch the brain after a long week of everything!
The House Scavenger Hunt came to a triumphant end after four days of Dragons, Pandas, Tigers and Warriors hunting for the puzzle pieces to make up their House mascot pictures.
A Whole School Assembly on Friday afternoon brought all the wolves of different colors together, but not before the four Houses created their first letters in human form: D P T W, and a new House Points update was revealed.
Will the Warriors be champions again in 2024-2025?
Will the Tigers retain the first place right to the end of the year this time? Will the Pandas find their 2023-2024 champion form again? Will the Dragons surprise everyone and fly over and above all other Houses?
Participate – every House Point counts. Have fun. And remember, we are all UISG Wolves.
What a great Spirit Week. Keep that spirit alive into 2025!
Go Wolves!
