The ‘UISG TALENT SHOW 2024’ sign was raised again on the red curtains, as on Thursday afternoon the Secondary edition of the Talent Show graced the MFH stage.
12 items filled the afternoon with a variety of song, dance and wonder, as our DP MCs guided the enthusiastic audience through the programme, leading to the finale where voting opened for the Top 3 Audience Favourites – students, staff and parents all having a chance to make their choices.
Rock bands were represented by two groups on debut, KIMCHI RAMEN and WONDERWALL, along with no strangers to the stage, INDECISION and NJ UNIVERSE K.
Dance was represented by the awesome STELLAR MOTION, a new trio who brought together Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 dancers.
Solo vocalists ranged from Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10, while one of our UISG representatives from the ISMAG Piano Competition 2024 pulled out a new contemporary piece suited to the Secondary Talent Show.
An amazing memory act added still more variety to a full show, while the UISG String Quintet was a high point mid-way through the show.
Watching the delight of our younger Secondary students seeing MFH technical rehearsals earlier in the week bodes well for a larger Talent Show next year, as our Year 6 and Year 7 students are inspired to join the programme. Start planning and practicing!
A big thank you to all supporters, from classmates to parents to staff, and our Performing Arts, PHE, Marketing and Facilities departments for collaborating to make another memorable event for our UISG Wolves.
Mr Malcolm Mawhinney
