April 30, 2026: May Day Long Weekend & Upcoming Events
Dear UISG Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As we head into the May Day long weekend, I wish you all a truly relaxing and restful break. Please remember that there will be no school on Friday, May 1, or Monday, May 4, due to the May Day holidays. School will resume on Tuesday, May 5, and we look forward to welcoming you back on that day.
Looking ahead to the week of May 5, a few important reminders and highlights:
- Grade 10 MYP eAssessmentswill continue, alongside the Grade 12 IB DP exams that our students are currently taking. Please keep up your focus and energy; we are proud of your efforts.
- On the fun side, don’t miss the Star Wars snowflakes in the atrium, a creative touch to brighten our week: May the fourth be with you and enjoy the unofficial Star Wars Day!
- We also have various badminton invitations, basketball games, and on Saturday, May 9, the PRC Spring Splash Swim Competition. Best of luck to all our student athletes participating!
Thank you for being part of our wonderful community. Enjoy the May Day long weekend, and we’ll see you on Tuesday, May 5.

Spirit Week:The Joy of Being Together
Spirit Week

This week, our school celebrated Spirit Week with energy and joy. From common dress-up days in both divisions to water balloon fun on the field, from the chaos of musical chairs to laughter heard throughout the community, students came together to celebrate what it means to be part of the Wolf Pack.

There were no grade with high stakes, just pure community. Students dressed up, showed out, and showed up for one another. The week built excitement and led us perfectly into the holiday weekend.

It was a reminder that school is not just about academics or achievements. It is about the moments we share, the spirit we create, and the simple joy of being together. The Wolf Pack was alive and well this week.

G3 Celebration of Learning

Our Grade 3 students recently concluded their “How We Express Ourselves” unit of inquiry with a remarkable Celebration of Learning that transformed our classroom into an interactive museum of creativity. Students showcased their appreciation for nature through diverse artistic mediums, including stop-motion animations, interpretive dances, detailed drawings, and 3D models. Each project reflected their unique perspective on the natural elements that inspire them most.
Interpretive dances:

What made this celebration truly special was watching our young learners confidently facilitate conversations with parents and community visitors. Students didn’t simply display their work—they actively engaged guests in meaningful discussions about their creative processes, artistic choices, and interpretations of nature’s beauty. The event beautifully demonstrated how inquiry-based learning empowers students to become confident communicators and critical thinkers. As visitors moved through our “museum,” they witnessed firsthand how our Grade 3 artists had transformed their wonder about the natural world into artistic expression. The celebration was a testament to our students’ growth as both artists and inquirers, showcasing their ability to express ideas while remaining open to diverse perspectives.

UISG University Talk Series:Sogang & Kyunghee Recap
This week, UISG hosted Sogang University (hybrid) and Kyunghee University (in-person). Both sessions drew engaged crowds of students and parents.

Sogang: Small Campus, Powerhouse Outcomes
Sogang offers unrestricted multiple majors (up to three!), student-designed majors, and linked majors in startup, semiconductor, and community innovation. The result? Seoul’s highest employment rate among four-year universities at 73.1%, plus 91% employment retention for three years running—impressive given Sogang’s high proportion of humanities students.

Kyunghee: Global Impact, Beautiful Campus
Kyunghee ranks 19th worldwide and #1 among private universities globally in the UN’s SDG rankings. The university sends 10 students annually to UN internships and excels in hotel management, business, media, biohealth, quantum science, space science, and traditional Korean medicine. The campus is also one of Korea’s most beautiful.

Coming Soon: Ewha Womans University
Mark your calendars! The week after the next, UISG hosts Ewha Womans University (이화여자대학교), the best women’s university in Korea, for an in-person session on Tuesday, May 13. Don’t miss it!
