I hope this message finds you well as we approach a well-deserved 4-day weekend in honor of China’s Labor Day. This is a wonderful opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Whether you’re traveling, exploring, or simply taking a break at home, I wish you all a joyful and refreshing long weekend.
As we prepare for the upcoming holiday, I’d like to highlight some important upcoming events. Due to the May 1-2 holiday, we’ll have just three regular school days before the break next week. This next week our DP students will commence their IB examinations, while our MYP students will launch into their Arts & Design showcase weeks – always a wonderful celebration of creativity. Our Year 2 students will then embark on their much-anticipated camp adventure from Monday through Tuesday.
Today marks the last day of classes for our Year 12 students as they transition into their IB exam period, which begins next week. This is a significant moment in their academic journey, and I encourage everyone in our community to wish them strength, focus, and confidence as they prepare for this important chapter. To our Year 12s—we are incredibly proud of your hard work and resilience, and we know you will rise to the challenge ahead.
As we look ahead, our campus is buzzing with energy, from student performances and athletic competitions to special events that bring our community together.
As the Head of School, I was honored to join our UISG swimmers for the ACAMIS Junior Swim Championships last weekend in Shanghai. What a proud moment to help coach this group of Primary and Secondary swimmers – Go UISG Water Wolves!
Monday, 24th: We kick off the week with the Year 5 into Year 6 Parent Information Session. This is a great opportunity for parents to gain insights into the transition process and planning underway to ensure a smooth transition to secondary next year.
As we head into another exciting week, I want to take a moment to celebrate a special day that brings together math enthusiasts, bakers, and curious minds alike—Happy Pi Day! On March 14 (3/14), we honor the mathematical constant π (pi), a symbol of infinite possibilities and the beauty of discovery. Whether you’re solving equations, enjoying a slice of pie, or simply marveling at the wonders of mathematics, I hope you find joy in this unique celebration.
As we step into the week ahead, we are excited to share a glimpse of the vibrant lineup of events that celebrate learning, creativity, and collaboration at UISG.
