This past weekend, Year 10 and 11 students attended SISMUN at Shekou International School. The theme of the conference was “Forging the Path to Global Advancement.” Our students were involved in committees ranging from the General Assembly to the Human Rights Council and the Economic and Social Council.
This 3-day conference had delegates representing various countries, engaging in debates, negotiations, and resolution drafting to address international issues within their assigned committees. MUN is a student-led club, and under the leadership of Year 11 students Anna and Happy, our students were well-prepared for the rigours of the conference. All of our delegates represented the best qualities of our students and did a fantastic job. Our delegation even managed to come away with several awards and honourable mentions.
If your child was a delegate, please give them a hearty congratulations; they all worked extremely hard and did great! If your child is interested in MUN, please have them talk to Mr. Bewza. MUN is a great opportunity for students to develop their public speaking, research, and diplomatic skills while addressing important global issues.
