On October 23rd, the college counselling departments at UISG and UISZ collaborated to successfully host an event inviting representatives and alumni from 6 universities from HKSAR and China.
Representatives from CityU Hong Kong, Lingnan University, and Sunyatsen University visited UISG’s campus to set up booths and talk to our students about the unique study opportunities they offer in HKSAR and China.
The two returning alumni also represented their current universities in their own booths. Helen Wong, a UISZ alumna, represented Hong Kong University as an architecture student and Salma Alkhayat , a UISG alumna, represented Chinese University of Hong Kong Shenzhen, as a finance student.
Two informative and lively panel discussions comprised the main part of the event. The university representatives focused on tips and strategies about the application process as well as the strengths of their institute, while the alumni shared their current experience of university life and tips for effectively achieving high school studies and activities.
Afterwards, students had the opportunity to walk around the booths and ask questions in a more personal setting to both representatives and alumni.
The event was attended by UISG Year 11 and 12 students and UISZ Year 12 students, as well as the larger parental community as well, with over 120 participants altogether.
This event was a successful part of the ongoing university info sessions series, aiming to raise awareness in students about a range of higher education opportunities around the world and prepare them to submit effective applications to universities of right fit.
Thank you for all those who attended! Please stay tuned on the UISG Biweekly College Counselling news for more events like this.
