In PYP we value student-initiated action. After our sleepover, one of the year 2 students wrote this wonderful recount at home and brought it to school. Here is a slightly edited version.
The Sleepover
Chapter 1: The Sleepover
On Thursday November 2ndat school, it was not like school, it was like a holiday at school. In the morning we brought bags, suitcases and other bags to take our pillows, blankets, dolls and other things you use before you can go to bed.
Chapter 2: The Trampoline Park
After lining up, my teacher got ready to tell us what we are going to do. First, I put my bag to the lecture theatre. Next, we went upstairs, put on our activity trackers and went to the trampoline park. I played on a high swing, and the best was the beating jump race. I raced with Mr. Harris, Mr. David, Mr. Tom, Ms. Wing and two boys.
Chapter 3: Ow, ouch
When it was 12, we ate lunch and… ouch! My tooth was loose, but it’s fine my teacher said, ah, after maybe 2 or 4 hours later ow ouch ow! My tooth was bleeding, but I did not cry. After that, it was finally time to watch movie! I watched Super Mario Bros and we got ready to brush our teeth.
Chapter 4: Zzzzz
Oh! I forgot to tell we had hot cocoa when we were watching the movie. We finished changing clothes and brushed our teeth. Evie and I snugged into our sleeping bags and bed. Fun fun zzzzzzzzzzzzzz….
