November 27, 2025: A Short Break and a Busy December Ahead
Dear UISG Community,
As we look ahead to the final week of November, I want to thank our incredible students and teachers for their ongoing energy and dedication. It has been wonderful to see our campus buzzing with learning and activity.
Before we dive into a very busy December, I want to remind you that this Friday, November 28th, school will be closed. This is a wonderful opportunity for our families to pause, reconnect, and enjoy some quality time together.
When we return on Monday, December 1, we hit the ground running. We are adjusting the format of this ‘Week Ahead’ section to align with the feedback shared by parents—thank you for your input! Here is a streamlined look at the action-packed schedule:
- Grade 10 Theater Shows & Mini Visual Art Exhibitions: Come and support the incredible creativity of our Grade 10 students.
- Consultations with Korean Universities: An important opportunity for our students to plan their future paths.
- A Variety of Sports Events: Get ready to cheer on our Wolves with basketball, touch rugby, and swimming competitions.
- The World Scholar’s Cup on Saturday: We wish the best of luck to our scholars as they compete in this prestigious academic event.
Finally, I would like to draw your attention to a key date for your family calendar: our International Festival of Light (IFOL) on Sunday, December 14, from 11 am to 4 pm. This will be a fun, celebratory event for the entire family and a beautiful way for our UIS Community to come together as we host our final big event of 2025.

Building Your IB Programme @ UISG
The PYP PD workshop at UISG brought together 40 teachers from across the Guangdong area for a warm, energizing day led by Amy, UISGs PYP Coordinator, and Chantelle, the Primary Principal. Participants—many new to the IB—explored practical strategies for building an IB programme, engaged in hands-on sessions, and shared ideas in collaborative discussions. The event blended professional learning with community-building: teachers danced together, enjoyed shared meals and sunshine, and welcomed new colleagues into the IB family. Overall it was a joyful, informative experience that strengthened connections and left attendees inspired to apply fresh approaches in their classrooms.
Grade 3 Field trip
Our recent Grade 3 field trip to Jiaoshiling Forest Park was a vibrant extension of our unit “How We Express Ourselves,” where students engaged directly with nature by identifying diverse natural elements and creating crafts in small groups, while also playing nature bingo as they eagerly sought out and photographed various parts of the environment, deepening their appreciation for nature and sparking creative ideas that will continue to inspire their upcoming classroom projects using a variety of artistic mediums.

A Royal Success!
King’s College London Inspires at Utahloy
What an inspiring afternoon! We were thrilled to host King’s College London, a world-top-40 university, for a fantastic session with our students. The energy was palpable as our Grades 11 & 12 students learned about life in the heart of London and the incredible opportunities at this prestigious institution. Witnessing our students so engaged and exploring their future possibilities is exactly what drives our college counselling mission at UISG. A huge thank you to the King’s College London team for visiting our community and helping to shape the ambitious futures of our students. The Utahloy journey to the world’s best universities continues!
UISG Shines at the
ACAMIS Math Olympiad 2025!
On November 15, our brilliant mathletes competed at the ACAMIS Math Olympiad, hosted by Stamford American School Hong Kong. They went head-to-head with top students from schools across the region.
We are thrilled to announce that eight of our students earned Bronze Medals in this prestigious competition, a fantastic achievement among 62 talented participants. A huge congratulations to our medalists and the entire team for representing UISG with such excellence and determination!

在UISG构建IB课程体系
广州誉德莱外籍人员子女学校近日成功举办IB小学项目专业发展工作坊，为广东地区40名教育工作者打造了一场温暖与活力交织的研修盛宴。本次活动由UISG小学项目课程组长Amy女士与小学校长Chantelle女士联袂主持，众多初次接触IB体系的教师在此共同探索课程构建的实用策略，开展沉浸式教学实践，并在协作讨论中迸发创新思路。这场专业成长与社群融合并存的活动别具匠心：教师们伴着音乐共舞，在阳光下的共享餐叙中交流，以温暖姿态迎接新同仁加入IB教育大家庭。整场活动既是启迪智慧的专业进修，更是凝聚人心的温暖聚会，参与者不仅深化了专业联结，更带着能在课堂立即实践的创新教学方法满载而归。
3年级实地考察之旅
近日，我校三年级学生前往蕉石岭森林公园开展研学活动，这场生动鲜活的户外课堂延展了”我们如何表达自己”单元主题。孩子们不仅辨识各类自然元素，还以小组协作方式创作自然手作；更手持自然寻宝图兴致盎然地寻找并拍摄各类自然景物，在探索中深化对自然的感悟，激发创意思维。这些源自大自然的灵感将继续滋养他们的艺术创作，孩子们将在后续课程中运用多种艺术媒介展现这些精彩创意。

11月15日，在香港斯坦福美国学校举办的ACAMIS数学奥林匹克竞赛中，我校数学健儿与来自亚太地区的顶尖学子同场竞技。
