On January 18 We went to the AIO (Art Institute of the Orient) in Shamian Island. We had experience of seeing how Shamian Island had changed since migrants came into China to do business, hundreds of years ago. Whilst we were learning we also had fun activities to do.
On Thursday 21 December, our K and K1 Wolf Cubs, embarked on an exciting field trip to a local strawberry farm. The anticipation leading up to this day was palpable, and it did not disappoint.
Our Year 1 students concluded their captivating exploration of “How We Express Ourselves” in a spectacular assembly this Friday.
At the GISES Basketball Jamboree, our Primary basketball teams delivered another outstanding exhibition. The girls won two matches, drew two, and the boys won three matches with one loss. Many thanks to all the parent cheerleaders for their support!
In PYP we value student-initiated action. On Monday 13th November, some students took the opportunity to perform on the basketball court, bringing their music to the outdoors.
Great week of basketball for our U11 teams. Congratulations to our junior athletes! The girls secured third place, while the boys were crowned champions in the GISES U11 basketball tournament.
As a provocation for our next unit of inquiry, year 2 went to a trampoline park. Year 2 students will be inquiring into health and wellbeing. The students wore activity trackers to check how much they moved.
UISG held the Primary Talent Show, which returned to the MFH stage with a successful performance, featuring students from Year 1 to Year 6 in individual and group performances, along with some surprise items. Ethan and Xoraya took on the role of MCs at the Primary Talent Show.
To celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, UISG organised a diverse range of activities over the four days prior to the holiday. The campus was filled with a vibrant atmosphere and the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
On Friday 22nd September the UISG community was asked to wear something white to represent peace. The day emphasised the need for everyone to play an active role in promoting peace, both within themselves and in their interactions with others.
