K1 Field Trip (Mar 2023)
This week K1 classes went on their first field trip! It was the first time participating in an out of school experience for most of the Wolf Cubs and they were so excited.

Year 3 went on a top-secret field trip to see how a factory makes ceramic tiles. Ceramic tiles are all around us. We use them for countertops, floors and walls. We learned ceramic tiles can make a place look neat, beautiful or even glamorous.
It was all smiles after the Year 4 students’ exciting and meaningful field trip to Stone Mineral Park! Our current unit of inquiry explores Earth’s geography and landforms and how Earth’s changes affect human interactions and settlement.
K2 took a field trip to the strawberry farm to pick fresh berries. In their current unit of inquiry, children are exploring the world using their senses.
On Wednesday, Year 6 went on a field trip on the year to the Guangzhou Science Museum. The focus of the trip was the culmination of our latest Unit of Inquiry. Students were split into groups and given assignments to complete as they explored the range of attractions at the museum.
On Monday, March 6th, Year 2 visited Huiling Farm. The students toured the farm and were allowed to feed pigs, cows, chickens and rabbits. They also had an opportunity to plant vegetables and make their own giant pizza. Please watch the videos to see how our day went.

The Year 1 field trip to the Guangzhou Zoo was a great success! Aligned with our current UOI, ‘Sharing the Planet’, the students explored the central idea that human activity influences the environment and all living things.
Last week, UISG Year 6 students were given a task, which was to create a maths game that UISG Year 1 students could use, learn from and enjoy. Students worked in groups to develop a range of resources using different materials to produce engaging and exciting games.
