Dear UISG Families,
I’m thrilled to announce our upcoming Utahloy Education Foundation (UEF) Family Day, taking place at UISG on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
This year’s theme is “United in Spirit: UEF Family Day,” and it promises to be an exciting day filled with activities for all ages from both UISG and UISZ.
We’ll kick off with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM, followed by a variety of engaging games, competitions, food, and entertainment throughout the day. You can look forward to house tournaments, arts and crafts, face painting, and even an inflatable jumping castle.
Don’t miss our special UPTA sponsored Color Run taking place at 2:00 pm, with our group photo at 3:00 pm.
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with our UISG and UISZ communities, take part in fun activities, and celebrate our UEF spirit.

我很激动地告知大家，即将到来的誉德莱教育集团（UEF）家庭日将于2025年3月1日星期六（上午10:00至下午3:00）在UISG举行。
今年的主题是“团结精神：UEF家庭日”，这将会是令人兴奋的一天，我们为来自UISG和UISZ的各年龄段学生安排了满满的活动。
当天上午10点举行开幕式，紧随是各种有趣的游戏、比赛、美食和娱乐活动。当天的团队竞赛、艺术、面部彩绘和儿童充气堡非常值得期待。
不要错过当天下午2点举行的彩色跑，这是我们UPTA特别赞助的活动，下午3点请与我们一起拍大合影。

Thank you to everyone that joined us this week for the conferences. It was delightful to see parents and students wandering around the place, playing outside, eating lunch together and having valuable learning conversations.
Farewell Kayla and Fion
Ms Kayla, one of our Learning Support Assistants, will be leaving us next week to get ready for her global adventure! We thank Kayla for all the work she has done and wish her all the best for her future.
Ms Fion, our Year 1 and 2 EAL teacher, is also off on a global adventure in April. We have Ms Fion for a few more weeks but she will be leaving us at the beginning of April. We also thank her for all the amazing work she has done to build up the English capacity in our young learners and wish her all the best in her future.
We are working on ensuring we have replacements for both Kayla and Fion, to ensure a smooth transition for students. If your child is affected by either of these departures, we will inform you soon of updates in staffing.
UEF Family Day – March 1st
UEF Family Day is just around the corner, next Saturday there will be so many exciting events on at school. Check out the UISG WeChat channel for more information!
For families, there will be lots of house competitions, so come dressed in the colour of your house…you too parents!
For the colour run, it would be best to change into a white t-shirt that you don’t mind getting a little bit of paint on.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Monthly we recognise and celebrate a specific Learner Profile trait. Although all the Learner Profile attributes are equally important, by highlighting one each month it helps to give that attribute a specific focus. The Learner Profile this month is Communicator. This is a perfect connection with Mother Language Day, which we celebrated today, Friday February 21st. The IB describes being a ‘communicator’ as expressing ourselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. Seeing our students and teachers in the atrium, communicating in lots of different languages was great to see. It is also a strong testament to our mother tongue programme at UISG, something we can be rightly proud of.
VEX Robotics
The ACAMIS VEX Robotics tournament was held at UISG last week. This activity is fantastic at building all the fundamental ATL skills – organisation skills; research skills; communication skills; critical and creative thinking skills; social skills, in addition to getting students understanding more about Robotics . Well done to all the participants, as well as the teachers who trained the students. The Robotics is an ECA and continues throughout this Semester.

亲爱的家长和监护人，
每个月，我们都会表彰和庆祝一个特定的学习者特征。虽然所有的学习者特征都同样重要，但通过每个月突出一个特征，有助于给该特征一个特定的重点。这个月的学习者特征是沟通者。这与我们今天（2月21日星期五）庆祝的母语日有着完美的联系。国际文凭将“沟通者”定义为用一种以上的语言和多种方式自信和创造性地表达自己。看到我们的学生和老师在中庭，用不同的语言交流，真是太棒了。这也有力地证明了我们在UISG的母语课程是我们值得自豪的事情。
VEX机器人锦标赛
ACAMIS VEX机器人锦标赛上周在UISG举行。这个活动非常有助于培养所有基本的ATL技能——组织能力；研究技能；沟通技巧；批判性和创造性思维能力；社交技能，以及让学生更多地了解机器人技术。所有的参与者，以及培训学生的老师干得漂亮！机器人是一项ECA活动，贯穿整个学期。
