Utahloy International School Guangzhou held a school-wide Chinese poetry recitation competition on the afternoon of June 7. The students provided an accompaniment of poetry and song, and their youthful exuberance lit up the poetic firmament and brought us a dazzling poetry festival.
Y5 were proud to share their hard work during their PYPx. This exhibition was the capstone project of their primary school career and involved them putting all the elements of the PYP together.
As we reflect on our exceptional PYP exhibition at our esteemed school UISG, we are filled with immense pride at the extraordinary achievements of our dedicated Year 6 students. Their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts throughout this transformative journey exemplify the very essence of our school community’s values.
Last Thursday 6 June, the final DP Music Recital of the 2023-2024 academic year took place in the Admin Hall. Falling during the Year 10 DP Transition Week, it was the perfect opportunity for the Class of 2026 to attend a concert and be represented on stage by their Year 10 classmates who have shown interest in joining the DP Music programme next year.
Friday 7 June 2024 marked one week left in the 2023 – 2024 Academic year, it also marked the Year 7 End of school Field Trip. The Class of 2029 celebrated the closing of their first year in the UISG Secondary School by attending the premiere of the new film.
Instrument Tuition Programme (ITP) students were provided with a performance opportunity and many took up the challenge, courageously taking to the Admin Hall stage to perform solos, duets and small group items over two lunchtime concerts this past week.
During the academic year, third-grade students had the opportunity to delve into the wonders of the longest river in the Czech Republic by immersing themselves in the musical composition “Moldau” by Bedrich Smetana.
The exhibition features artwork by Y7I students from two units. The first unit focused on creating illusions and depth in artwork. Students learned to use the techniques of perspective and shading to create a sense of three-dimensionality.
Ms. Jai Roa brings 25 years of experience in international education as a leader and a teacher. Ms. Jai is a passionate educator who believes we can inspire, challenge, and connect with learners to help them make a difference.
